Kultur.Natur Klassik
Cultured Excellence at the Highest Level On May 1, 2026, the Erlerberg in Kufsteinerland will become the venue for a new cultural format. With “Culture.Nature Classic,” music moves to where a vast landscape and traditional mountain huts accompany classical sounds. Against the backdrop of the first mountains of Tyrol, an unparalleled concert experience is created that consciously separates itself from traditional concert halls and uses nature as the resonating space. Starting from the hiking parking lot at Erlerberg, the Spitzsteinhaus, Alpengasthof Moosbauer, Stoana Alm, and Altkaser Alm serve as stages. These are not just backdrops but integral parts of the experience. In three coordinated cycles, approximately 20-minute concerts will take place at each location at 11:15 AM, 12:45 PM, and 2:15 PM, repeating throughout the day and connecting by short hikes from hut to hut. The event takes place only in good weather. The movement between the huts is a part of the dramaturgy. Step by step, perceptions change. The view opens up, sounds recede, and the landscape expands. When the music begins, it meets a space that is already impactful. Sound and environment relate to each other without being separate. At the center of Classical Music on the Mountain this year are emerging artists as well as chamber music ensembles with international stage experience. The reduced form creates a special closeness. Music is not perceived from a distance but is embedded in the immediate experience of the place and moment. Between concerts, there is time for reflection, conversations, and either lingering or moving from one concert location to another. “Classical Music on the Mountain” is connected to the cultural grounding of the community of Erl and consciously extends this into the landscape. This creates a format that links two spaces that are closely intertwined in Kufsteinerland: culture and nature. The concerts are freely accessible and can be attended without registration. However, registration is required for the guided hikes (register here definitively) and for the event bus (book here definitively) from Kufstein and the Festspielhaus Erl. A day for all senses, completely carefree and without strict etiquette. For an audience that seeks the extraordinary.
