2015 was the breakthrough year for BABYMETAL: sold-out shows at the House of Blues in Chicago and the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, and they won several awards: including the "Breakthrough Act" award at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods, the "Spirit of Independence" award at the Relentless Kerrang! Awards, MTV Europe's "Wildcard Best Japanese Act," and several LOUDWIRE Awards. Additionally, they received the "Discovery Prize" at the GQ Japan Awards "Men of the Year 2015" and the "Women of the Year" award at the VOGUE Japan Awards "Women of the Year 2015". In July 2015, they became the first Japanese artist to appear on the cover of Metal Hammer.
