The Fauré Quartet opens the Kufstein concert season 2026/27 with Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" in an arrangement for piano quartet. Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" is among the most impressive works in music history. Inspired by the works of his deceased friend Viktor Hartmann, Mussorgsky created a musical tour through highly diverse visual worlds. The recurring "Promenade" connects poetic, quirky, and monumental scenes into a work full of imagination and expressiveness.
