Gastspiel 'Bauernschach' urbayrisches Theater der IBERLBÜHNE aus München
The Hironimus Haiglbauer has died in an accident. Nothing unusual in itself, but his spirit still has something to accomplish on Earth and continues to haunt the farm. There is already an heir and successor present in the form of Victus, his son, who enjoys the role of the large farmer very much. However, Vreni, his fiancée, has other plans; she would like to sell the farm and move to the city. When a feed representative shows up after the funeral meal, wanting to collect debts while also making eyes at the maid Marei – it becomes a matter of life and death. To keep the farm and pay off the debts so that the old Haiglbauer can go to heaven and the feed representative along with the debt notes disappears, a murderous game of cat and mouse begins, full of surprising twists... Until in the end, one no longer knows who is actually the cat and who is the mouse. One thing is certain: at some point, everyone will bite the dust – the only question is, who will go first... The new comedy from the Iberlbühne winks at the people and consciously plays with the clichés about Bavaria and its inhabitants. Sometimes holding up a mirror, sometimes revealing – but always at eye level – the play transports the audience to the good old days, which seem not so far from our own.
