He is compared to Piazzola and Paganini, yet the native South Tyrolean musician has created and developed an unmistakable musical style over the years. We are talking about Herbert Pixner, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and namesake of the Herbert Pixner Project.
In 2026, the Herbert Pixner Project will remain personnel-wise expanded. In addition to the usual lineup with Manuel Randi (guitar), Werner Unterlercher (bass) and Ysaline Lentze (harp) also Alessandro Trebo will be on the concert grand piano “on tour”. Thus, the Herbert Pixner Project will present a new concert program in 2026, designed for the most beautiful stages and most renowned concert halls throughout the German-speaking world.
For nearly two decades now, the Herbert Pixner Project has been one of the most successful representatives of “progressive folk music.” With playful-lascivious gentleness, powerful rock and blues riffs, brilliant technique, daring improvisational joy, and influences from tango, flamenco, and jazz, they have been captivating their audience for years. Minimalistic, rugged, dreamy, but always authentic—that's how it sounds. Here, diverse sound carpets are woven; there is space for gentle melancholy and also for outbursts that know no bounds.
