Knights’ festival
Every year - THE highlight at Whitsun. In the truest sense of the word. Once again, hundreds of actors from all over Europe do the honor of taking the absolutely legendary Kufstein Fortress back to the colorful Middle Ages. A unique family experience - often copied and yet never equaled. Immerse yourself with us in the fantastic world of knights, jugglers, musicians and fire artists and experience an unforgettable weekend. At Whitsun, Kufstein Fortress once again belongs entirely to jugglers, knights and mythical creatures. According to the concept of organizer Christian Domeier, which has been tried and tested for decades, the magnificent fortress will once again host four days of medieval celebrations. Many thousands of people come to Kufstein every year to be there when the legend continues to be written. The Ritter-Fest Kufstein is becoming more and more of an international event: guests travel from ever greater distances and are entertained by artists and musicians from many European countries at the highest level. For example, the Hungarian band Bordo Sarkani can be heard for the first time. The professional musicians play a rousing fusion of folklore and modern songs with virtuosity on their instruments. Koenix come from the world of myths and legends and bring Josefsburg to the boil again. The weird birds of the Event Puppets perform acrobatics at Cirque de Soleil level. They also put on a large part of the evening fire show. It is always a highlight and is accompanied live by the Nordic formation Poeta Magica. In the Luginsland tent city, children can listen to fairy tales, take part in knights' tournaments and do handicrafts. In addition to many jugglers and even more musicians, last year's extremely popular cockroach race will also be back. The medieval market will once again transform the entire fortress complex into a truly historic location, where visitors will also be able to smell the aromas of delicious food from the Occident and Orient. “A visit to the Ritter-Fest is always worth the trip!”, as one enthusiastic visitor put it so aptly last year.
