My Foolish Heart - Raphael Niederstätter (Gitarre Solo)
The guitar sings – between romance and jazz! Schubert/Mertz songs and songs by Bennett/Evans in arrangements by Raphael Niederstätter. Program: - J. K. Mertz (1806/1856): Six Schubert Lieder transcribed for guitar (1822) - Raphael Niederstätter: Songs from the Bill Evans / Tony Bennett Album (1975) The arrangements of Schubert's songs by J. K. Mertz hold a special place in guitar literature. Inspired by Franz Liszt, Mertz uniquely intertwined melody and accompaniment in the guitar, creating artistic musical gems. Raphael Niederstätter takes a distinct approach with his arrangements of songs from the famous THE TONY BENNETT/BILL EVANS ALBUM. Here too, melody and accompaniment, voice and musical expression are translated into the guitar. The concert spans a bridge between two musical worlds: the nature-connected emotional realm of romance and the often introspective, psychological dimensions of jazz. At the center are the texts, their images, longings, and inner movements. Raphael Niederstätter introduces the texts underlying the songs, opening a view into the different conceptions of love, nature, and the human soul, each finding its unique expression in romance and jazz. Admission is a voluntary donation.
