Rock-Cello meets Poetry

With this project, Markus Köhle and Cemplified create a new connection between text and music - an exciting mixture of word sports and rock songs on two cellos that leaves plenty of room for experimentation. Markus Köhle writes to be heard. He is a language installer, literary magazine activist and Austria's ‘Papa Slam’. He has been organising poetry slams throughout the country since 2002, runs school workshops, publishes poetry slam anthologies together with Mieze Medusa and writes novels, children's books and plays in between. As Cemplified, the two classically trained cellists Julian Walkner and Peter Polzer have been playing various rock classics such as Deep Purple, the Rolling Stones and Queen alongside many of their own compositions since 2015. Away from amplification, they do without electronic effects and use their cellos from the 18th century, remaining true to the original cello sound.
