„North6“, Climber Multimedia Presentation, Tirol Premiere, Saturday, 8:00 PM, Kultur Quartier Kufstein / Theater Hall, Doors and Wonderful Gastronomy 6:30 PM, Hall Entry 7:00 PM
The grand project spanned a total of 18 days. Roger takes the audience on a visually powerful journey across the 6 major north faces of the Alps and lets them experience his adventures. In the NORTH6 project, Roger Schäli and Simon Gietl ascended the six major north faces of the Alps in just 18 days and cycled from one wall to another. On September 17, 2021, the two began in Italy with the Croda dei Toni via the Comici Route (7). They needed only three hours for the 500-meter-high wall. The second endeavor followed on Piz Badile in the Bergell three days later. Again, the climbing team took three hours for the 900-meter-high Cassin Route (6). The bike brought them to the Eiger North Face on September 13, 2021, which they ascended via the Chant du Cygne Route (7a). The classic Schmid Route (80°, WI4+, M4, 1,200m) on the Matterhorn North Face was their next target, which they conquered in twelve hours despite poor weather conditions. Roger described this ascent as "borderline." On the French Dru, fresh snow accompanied them on the Allain Route, from which they had to switch to the classic North Couloir (AI 6+, M8, 900m) due to weather conditions, spending 17 hours on the mountain. On September 24, 2021, both were able to complete their project on the Grandes Jorasses, which they ascended via the Linceuil Direct (70-90°, WI5-6+, 1,100m). In total, the project spanned 18 days, including 1 rest day and 3 pause days due to bad weather, with 30,770 meters of elevation gain and 29,470 meters of descent on foot, by bike, and with a paraglider.
