Premiere for ‘Klassik am Berg’: A cultural event that combines alpine scenery and classical music

Kufsteinerland, Tyrol – On 1 May 2026, a new cultural event series called “Klassik am Berg” will launch in Kufsteinerland. Between 11:00 and 15:00, four alpine huts on the Erlerberg will be transformed into concert stages, offering a fresh perspective on classical music in the Alpine region.

The premiere is conceived as the kick-off to a long-term series. The aim is to establish a recurring format that deliberately positions cultural content outside traditional performance venues, whilst treating the landscape as an integral part of the experience.

With its Festspielhaus and Passionsspielhaus, the municipality of Erl has for years been a central cultural hub in Kufsteinerland. “Klassik am Berg” expands this profile towards the landscape and deliberately shifts musical performances into the Alpine region. Spitzsteinhaus, Moosbauer, Stoana Alm and Altkaser Alm serve as decentralised venues. The programme follows a clear structure: three concert cycles per location make it possible to connect the individual venues on foot. The movement between the venues thus becomes part of the dramaturgy.

The focus is on young musicians and small ensembles. Performers include Kufstein-based guitarist Maximilian Wörter, saxophonist Anna Nalter, the Edoné Quartet (flute) and the Duo Mona with Mona Milota and Mona Hochschwarzer (violin/viola). The programmes range from Baroque works to contemporary compositions.

To complement the concert programme, guided walks are offered, which deliberately integrate the experience of nature into the programme.

The combination of landscape appreciation and musical listening forms a central element of the format. Participation in the walks and use of a shuttle bus from Kufstein or the Festspielhaus Erl is free of charge, but requires a booking.

With “Klassik am Berg”, the Tourismusverband Kufsteinerland is taking a further step in developing its cultural profile as a year-round destination. The event combines existing cultural expertise with new, accessible approaches whilst simultaneously opening up new spatial perspectives for cultural formats.
