THE ART OF SOLO - ZEM (BE)

ZEM gives harp music a completely new sound: from Beethoven to Jimi Hendrix, from Brassens to Patti Smith. Classically trained harpist and songwriter ZEM sings her own songs and those of her heroes, accompanied by her semi-electric harp and percussion – like a one-woman band. Right from her first performance, ZEM won the TV5 Monde Audience Award. Born in Ethiopia, raised in Belgium, classically trained, innovative by vocation, hip-hop as her roots, French chansons as her secret pleasure, blues as her experience, jazz as her rhythm, soul as her prophecy.
