The Gun Street Girls – A Tribute To Tom Waits

Tom Waits is a legend. A weird bird with equally weird songs that captivate and inspire with their rumbling and stomping passion, their wild machine-soaked or gentle arrangements, his barking voice and then again with the wonderful melodies. The Gun Street Girls, five established musicians from the Viennese scene, adore Waits and play his marvellous songs to pay homage to the master, whereby they don't even try to imitate Waits‘ roaring and bellowing voice too closely, but instead focus much more on Tom's beautiful musical work, the pearls that are often hidden behind Waits’ barking - and of course are made into masterpieces not least because of this. Waits is always worth listening to, and because the master has hardly toured for several years now, you just have to make do otherwise. The Gun Street Girls are:
